Subject: Clarification

Friends,

I feel the strong need to clarify something, both personally and organizationally:

Personally: I deeply admire the courage of the ten women who demonstrated yesterday at the Maccabiah games. In fact, it was a ray of light in the evening that also saw the terrorist bomb in Binyamina and then Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinians in response. My report of this, however, was not an endorsement of the leaflet distributed by the women (which I had not yet seen).

Organizationally: Neither the action nor the leaflet was under the auspices of the Coalition of Women for a Just Peace.
