2:45-4:15 |
Workshop Session I (groups assigned to have geographic diversity) – discussing ideas raised by Speakers Panel; brainstorming strategies & tactics for the campaign |
Program |
Discuss in small groups the ideas raised by the speakers. Speakers should travel from group to group to answer any questions. Purpose is to brainstorm on possible strategies and tactics for campaign to end the Occupation. Each group should think about all types of strategies and tactics (for example: media, actions, lobbying, Jewish outreach, non-Jewish outreach, education, fundraising, religious, art/culture, online, etc.) Each group also needs to think about how these strategies and tactics will be carried out by the local groups and coordinated nationally. Each group should decide on "best" ideas that will most likely be effective and best for national coordination. |
Logistics |
Groups should be assigned with geographic diversity; no more than eight people per group; assignment given at registration; and should meet separately with a facilitator |
Reasons |
Attendees meet counterparts from other regions and with diverse ideas; participants immediately focus on national cooperation and what will work rather than policies or mission statements. |
4:15-5:30 |
Plenary Session I (reports from workshop groups) |
Program Content |
Each breakout group proposes its "best" ideas; get ideas for each type of strategy; plenary compiles most highly-recommended ideas for use in Sunday workshops. |

9:05-10:15 |
Workshop Session II (in-depth strategy & tactics planning) |
Program Content |
Attendees join a workshop devoted to the particular strategy area that interests them (for example: media, actions, lobbying, Jewish outreach, non-Jewish outreach, education, fundraising, religious, art/culture, online, others that have been raised in Workshop I). Groups discuss the details of tactics they will use, including timelines and assignment of responsibilities, based on information gained Saturday. Groups also can discuss "skills development" needed within a particular strategy area, such in the Jewish outreach group, as answers to frequently asked questions. |
Reasons |
Although it is not possible to plan an entire strategy in one and one-half hours, this workshop will allow the groups to begin the discussion; hopefully members of these groups will continue after the conference to carry out coordination work. |
Logistics |
One group is set up for each of the major strategies that came out of the plenary on Saturday. Attendees self-select into the group that interests them. Each can choose its own facilitator and should be in a separate room. |

10:30-11:45 |
Plenary Session II (groups report on in-depth strategy plans) |
Program Content |
Workshop groups present the in-depth plans upon which they have decided |
Reasons |
Need to inform all attendees what the individual strategy groups are thinking and how people already are planning informally to coordinate. |
11:45-1:15 |
Workshop Session III – (structure and function of national coordination) and Lunch |
Program Content |
Groups discuss how national coordination should occur; structure and activities of any national entity; including details of organizational structures, roles, means of coordination. Groups can eat lunch together to continue the discussions |
Reasons |
Need small groups to examine and debate the issue because it will be too unwieldy in large group. |
Logistics |
Return to geographically diversified groups from breakout session I |
1:15-2:45 |
Plenary Session III (agreement on structure and function of national coordination) |
Program Content |
(1) Workshop IV groups report on ideas for structure and activities for future coordination (2) Plenary debate and vote to adopt structure (3) Plenary debate and vote on next steps for activating coordination structure (4) Plenary adopts conference resolution about (a) adoption of campaign to end Occupation, (b) formation of national coordinated strategy |
Reasons |
Need structure for national organization/network and clear idea of next steps to build it. Need a resolution for press release |
